Adding Scaffolding
To create a scaffold structure:
Navigate to Item Library → Smart Objects → Scaffold Builder.
Click on the map where you would like to place the scaffolding.
The Scaffold Builder window will open.
Scaffold Settings
Start by configuring the main details of your scaffold structure.
Name: Enter a name for your scaffold.
Floor Type: Choose between Scaff Deck or Timber.
Panel Width: Enter the width of each scaffold panel in metres.
Panel Length: Enter the length of each scaffold panel in metres.
Rails on All Edges: Tick this checkbox to automatically add safety rails around the entire perimeter of your scaffold.
Adding Bays
Scaffold structures are built using individual bays, allowing you to customise the overall dimensions and layout.
To add a bay:
Under Bays, enter the No. Panels required.
If needed, enter an Override Panel Length to use a different panel length from your default settings for that bay only.
Click Add Bay.
Repeat to add additional bays to your scaffold structure.
As you add bays, the preview will automatically update to reflect your configuration.
Adding and Removing Rails
You can customise the placement of safety rails around your scaffold structure.
External Rails
If Rails on All Edges is ticked, rails will automatically be added around the entire perimeter and cannot be individually toggled.
If Rails on All Edges is unticked, click the +/- icons along the external edges in the preview to toggle individual rails on or off.
Internal Rails
Click the +/- icons between internal scaffold sections to add or remove dividing rails.
This allows you to customise rail placement to suit your scaffold layout, including access points and internal divisions.
Preview Your Scaffold
The Preview panel displays a live representation of your scaffold as you build it.
As you add bays or adjust your settings, the preview automatically updates to show:
Overall scaffold dimensions.
Individual bays and panel layouts.
External safety rails.
Internal dividing rails.
You can also interact directly with the preview to toggle individual rails on or off where permitted.
Creating the Scaffold
Once you're happy with your configuration:
Click Add Scaffold.
Your custom scaffold will be placed onto the map.
You can then move, rotate and manage the scaffold like any other map object.
Use the Attributes tab in the right-hand panel to add additional information, including suppliers, notes and custom attributes.
Editing an Existing Scaffold
You can update your scaffold configuration at any time.
Select the scaffold on your map.
Open the right-hand panel.
Click Edit Scaffold.
Make your changes in the Scaffold Builder.
You can adjust panel dimensions, add or remove bays, change flooring types and update rail configurations. Your scaffold will update on the map to reflect your changes.
TIP: Use the live preview to check panel quantities, scaffold dimensions and rail placement before adding your structure to the map.
