Answer:
Currently to send an email directly to someone (i.e using the "To:" recipient field) they must first be a Contact within Event Temple. You can, however cc or bcc an email address that is NOT a contact in Event Temple.
You can send an email to any Contact within Event Temple, whether they are attached to the booking or not.
If the Contact is not attached to the booking, a warning notification will appear:
You can email multiple people by using CC or a BCC. Once you have selected the option, simply enter their email address, or select the existing Contact in the field:
