Switching Event Types: Impact on Existing Attendee List
Switching Event Types: Impact on Existing Attendee List
Updated over 5 months ago

Evey offers event organizers the flexibility to choose between different event types, including one-time events and recurring events. This raises a common question: what happens if you transition an event from a one-time event to a recurring event after attendees have already purchased tickets?

Let's delve into this scenario to clarify any concerns.

Transitioning from Single Day to Recurring Event

If you originally set up a single-day event and later decide to transition it to a recurring event, here's how it impacts existing ticket holders:
No Impact on Existing Tickets If Dates Match:

  • If the date on the ticket corresponds to an available date within the new recurring event schedule, there will be no impact. The system will still recognize and accept the ticket.

Example:

  • Single Day Event: September 29, 2023 (Friday)

  • Transitioned Recurring Event: Every Friday starting September 29, 2023

  • In this scenario, the ticket for September 29, 2023, will still be valid.

Impact on Existing Tickets If Dates Don't Match:

  • If the date on the ticket doesn't align with any available dates in the new recurring event schedule, the system will not accept the ticket.

Example:

  • Single Day Event: September 29, 2023 (Friday)

  • Transitioned Recurring Event: Every Saturday starting October 5, 2023

  • In this case, a ticket for September 29, 2023, will not be valid for the new event schedule.

Transitioning an event from a single day to a recurring event will only impact existing tickets if the new event schedule doesn't include the date on the ticket. As long as the date on the ticket matches an available date in the recurring event schedule, attendees can use their tickets accordingly.

For a seamless transition and to ensure attendee satisfaction, it's important to communicate any changes effectively and provide alternative options if needed.
