Yes! Extern gives subscription students flexibility in how they participate. There are two common scenarios where you may want to pause your externship:
1. Pausing Your Subscription
You may cancel your subscription at any time.
Once your current pay period ends, your access to the platform and modules will pause automatically.
When you decide to return and resubscribe:
You will regain access to the same externship you were enrolled in.
Your progress and enrollment remain saved, so you can resume right where you left off.
Important — award eligibility: To earn a completion award, you need to finish all required deliverables and modules by your cohort's end date or within the 3-week grace period after it. If that window has passed while your subscription was paused, you can still complete the work, but it won't be eligible for an award. To be award-eligible, enroll in a current cohort when you return.
2. Switching to Another Externship
Students may unenroll from a current externship at any time to join a different one.
Once you complete the new externship, you can return to your original program.
To return:
Complete your new externship.
Contact Extern Support and request to be re-enrolled in your previous program.
This flexibility allows you to manage your learning path without losing your progress.
