Externship dates are set to maintain consistent timelines for live meetings, peer collaboration, and award eligibility. Once a cohort begins, its start and end dates cannot be changed. However, if your schedule changes or you’d like to align with a different cohort timeline, there are options available.
Dates for the Externship Will Not Be Changed
All externship dates are fixed to ensure fairness and structure across each cohort. This includes both the start date (when live sessions begin) and the end date (the cutoff for evaluations and awards).
Switching to a Different Cohort
If your current schedule no longer works, you’re welcome to unenroll from your current cohort and join a future one that better fits your availability.
Keep in mind:
Your work will not transfer between cohorts. You’ll need to start fresh in the new cohort’s modules.
Award eligibility, project timelines, and meeting schedules will follow the new cohort’s dates.
To make this change, simply:
Unenroll from your current externship cohort.
Enroll in the next available cohort through your student dashboard.
No Extensions for End Dates or Awards
Extern does not adjust end dates or extend grace periods for award eligibility.
If you wish to receive a Top Achiever or Completer Award, all deliverables must be completed within your cohort’s official timeline and published grace period.
