Stipends are an exciting part of completing your externship, but sometimes there may be a slight delay in receiving the funds.
Typical Processing Time
Stipends generally take 3–5 business days to process after you are notified that the payment has been sent.
If You Haven’t Received Your Stipend
Double-check your payout information
Log in to the Student Portal and confirm that your payout information is correct.
Incorrect or outdated information is the most common reason for delayed payments.
Understand Our Payment Policy
Once a stipend is sent, Extern is no longer responsible for any errors caused by incorrect payout details.
If an error occurs, we cannot resend a new payment until the original stipend is returned to Extern by the payment processor or bank.
Contact Your Bank or Provider
If the stipend still hasn’t arrived after 5 business days and your information is correct, contact your bank or payment provider to trace the transaction.
Tip: To prevent delays, always make sure your payout information is accurate and up to date before your stipend is processed.
