Adding the Separate Check-in screen to an Android Tablet

You can use the separate Check-in screen on a browser window, or you can add it to your Android tablet's home screen for easy access. If you'd like to add the separate Check-in screen to your tablet's home screen, follow the steps below:

  • Open the web browser on your tablet (for example, Google Chrome)

  • Go to signin.famly.co

  • The Check-in screen will look a little like this:

  • Next, click on the '...' icon next to the URL bar at the top

  • From the options, tap on Add to Home screen then Install

  • Next, your tablet will ask if you want to add Famly SignIn to your Home screen, tap Add

Now, the Check-In screen is accessible from the home screen of your tablet. It'll look similar to the regular Famly app, but you'll see Famly SignIn underneath it:

If you tap Famly SignIn on your homescreen, the Check-in screen will open up, and you can enter the password from your Check-in settings in-app.

Depending on the toggles you've switched on in your Check-in settings, you'll see your Rooms, a PIN pad, or a QR code. If you're stuck at this stage, the next section of this article will run through how to activate your Check-in screen.

Activating the Check-in Screen

The separate Check-in screen has to be activated by a manager, or member of staff with the correct permissions.

πŸ”’ To be able to log in and activate the separate Check-in screen, you must have permission to Check children in and out and Manage enabling/disabling features

To log in and activate the separate Check-in Screen:

  • Log into Famly as you normally would with your email and password (the Famly app, not the Famly SignIn app you just added to your home screen)

  • Go to Settings

  • Click on Check In/Out

  • In the Check-In password section, you'll see a Show password button - tap on this to reveal your Check-in screen password. This is the four-digit unique code that you will need to enter to activate your Check-in screen.

πŸ’‘ Your Check-in screen password will change daily for security reasons, so make sure to check back here if you've logged out of your Check-in screen

  • Tap and hold over the password to copy it (or just remember it!)

  • Exit out of the Famly app and open the Famly SignIn screen app you added to your home screen earlier

  • Here, paste or enter the password from your Check-in settings

  • If you use the PIN or QR Check-in screen, you'll see the PIN pad or QR code appear, but otherwise, you'll be able to start checking children and staff in

Decide Which Rooms to Show on your Check-in Screen

You can customise your Check-in screen to show or hide certain rooms. Just follow the steps below:

  • Open up your Check-in screen by clicking on the Famly SignIn app you added to your home screen

  • Tap on the '...' in the corner of the screen and go to Settings

  • Uncheck the rooms you want to hide

  • Click Save
