πŸ”’ Staff members with permission to Send news feed posts to parents and staff can create polls

You can add polls directly to your Newsfeed to quickly gather opinions from staff or parents. Whether you are planning an event or collecting feedback, creating a poll only takes a few clicks.


Create a poll

Creating a poll is just like writing a normal Newsfeed post, with the added step of choosing your poll settings.

To create a poll:

  • Go to the Newsfeed and click Start a new post

  • Select the Create a poll icon from the options at the bottom of the post

Add poll details

Once you have chosen to create a poll, you can start filling in the information that will be shown to your recipients.

  • Enter a title in the Title field

  • Add answers as Options

  • Click + Add answer to create another answer field

  • Click the bin icon to remove an answer

Customise your poll

You can also decide how people respond to your poll and how the results are displayed. This gives you more control over the type of feedback you want.

Click the cog icon to adjust settings:

  • Allow multiple answers β†’ let recipients select more than one answer

  • Show votes as percentage β†’ display votes as percentages instead of numbers

  • Make votes anonymous β†’ hide who voted for each option

Post your poll

Once you are happy with your poll, you can add it to your post and choose who should see it.

  • Click Add poll to attach it to your Newsfeed post

  • Choose your recipients and add a description if needed

  • Click Post to publish

πŸ’‘ Once a poll has been created, it cannot be edited. You will need to create a new poll if you want to make changes

Answering a poll

When your poll is posted, recipients can reply with just one click by selecting an option. The way results appear will depend on the settings you chose.

If you show results as a percentage, answers will display in percentage format:

If you show results as numbers, answers will display as vote counts:

Viewing poll results

As the poll creator, you can track responses as they come in. If your poll is not anonymous, you will also be able to see exactly who voted for each option.

  • Click See votes under your poll

  • A list of respondents will appear
