Activating the Meal Booking Feature
To use the meal booking, it must first be activated. Here's how to do it:
Go to Settings → Meals → Meal Booking and enable the feature.
Then, set the latest time by which parents must unregister their children for meals.
How Parents Register/Unregister Their Children for Meals
Once the meal booking is activated, children are automatically registered for all meals. Parents can unregister their children via the child’s profile. They go to the "Activity" tab and click on Meals.
A new window will open where a date or period can be selected. There’s an option to unregister children from all meals or specific meals.
When marking an absence, the child will be automatically unregistered from the corresponding meals. However, when entering vacation in a holiday RSVP form, children will not be automatically unregistered from meals.
If your site creates meal plans in Famly, parents can view which meals they have registered or unregistered their child for by going to Home > Calendar.
How Staff Register/Unregister Children for Meals
Once the meal booking is activated, children are initially registered for all meals. Staff can unregister children by going into the child profile under "Activity" and clicking on Meals.
A new window will open where a date or period can be selected. Staff can register or unregister one or more children for all meals or specific meals.
When marking an absence, the child will be automatically unregistered from the corresponding meals. However, children will not be automatically unregistered from meals when entering vacation in a holiday RSVP form.
Overview of Registered Meals
To find an overview of registered meals, go to Home → Meals → Meal Booking.
Here, you can also filter by specific children, groups, additional groups, or allergies, and view custom periods.
