What is the Finance Onboarding Wizard?

When you first set up your Famly account you will be taken through a step-by-step guide to setting up your billing. This article talks through what this looks like and outlines extra tips for the correct setup.


Tuition

The first step is to create tuition. Just a quick heads up: creating your first tuition is a mandatory step and cannot be skipped. But don't worry - it's super easy to do! And the best part? You can create as many as you like, giving you complete control over your experience. Remember to click on save before you add another one though. Plus, if you need to make changes or add more tuition options later on, you can always do that too.

You can create a tuition with monthly and weekly prices. If you create a tuition with both prices at the same time, it will be saved as two separate tuition options, one with the monthly price and one with the weekly price.

Once you finish setting these up you'll see a screen that looks something like the below, with a summary of your work so far:


Fees

Great job on creating your tuitions! The next step is totally optional. You can create extra charges for things like meals or diapers - it's up to you. If you're not sure if you need to add these charges right away, you can always skip this step and come back to it later.

Keep in mind that you can only add either weekly or monthly tuitions and charges to a child's plan, but don't worry - you can always make changes or adjustments later on.


Parent payments

It's time to set up payments so you can easily get paid by parents in-app. We use a trusted service called Stripe to process payments securely. Here's what to expect:

  1. Payment methods - you can choose what payment methods parents can use. Each option comes with different fees - check out the little tooltip for details.

  2. Business type - choose the option that best describes your business. Depending on what you choose, the following form will be tailored to your needs. Not sure which to choose? We're here to help!

  3. Bank details - enter your sort code and account number so payments can be sent directly to your account.

  4. Details form - we'll need some information from you to set up your account. If you're a Company, we'll need your company identification number. Don't worry, the rest is pretty straightforward.

  5. Summary page - take a moment to review your information and make sure everything looks good. Here's a helpful screenshot that shows you what to look for.
