How to set up a membership

Updated over a week ago

Creating a membership on Fanbase takes just a few minutes. Here's how.

In Memberships, click Create membership at the top right.

  1. Fill in all the details of your Membership:

    1. Name your membership. Choose something clear and recognisable — "Supporter Membership", "Family Member", "Junior Member" and similar work well. Fans need to understand the offer at a glance.

    2. Write your description. Lead with what fans get, not what the membership is. Be specific — "10% off all match tickets" is more compelling than "exclusive discounts". Your description is what converts a browser into a buyer.

    3. Upload an image. Use something that feels like your club — a crest, stadium shot, or matchday photo. This is what fans see when they manage their membership in the app, so make it feel worth having.

    4. Set your billing. Choose up to 2 options from weekly, monthly, or annual billing and set your price. Annual billing typically gives you more upfront revenue and lower churn; monthly lowers the barrier to sign up. Think about what suits your fanbase.

    5. Add your benefits. Set up your automated discounts and any additional benefits. See: Managing different benefits.

    6. [If you have Loyalty programme enabled] Set the number of points to a membership [LINK TO LOYALTY INFO]

    7. Either save as a draft for now or Publish to make it live.

Once published, grab the membership link from the top right of the screen and share it — via social media, email, matchday programmes, and your regular fan communications.

You can edit some details after publishing. For details see Can we edit a membership after it's been published?

💡 Quick tip: Take time with your image and description before you hit publish. First impressions drive sign-ups — a polished listing will outperform a placeholder every time.
