Managing Membership benefits

How to manage the different benefits that you offer your Members

Updated over a week ago

Your membership can include:

  • Automated discounts (applied on Fanbase purchases), and

  • Additional benefits (anything outside the platform).

Here's how to set up and manage each.

Automated discounts

Automated discounts are applied automatically when a member buys tickets, season tickets, or events through Fanbase. Once set up, no ongoing action is needed from you or your staff.

These can be set as:

  • Percentage discounts (e.g. 10% off match tickets)

  • Fixed amount discounts (e.g. £2 off match tickets)

You can apply discounts to any product:

  • Match tickets

  • Season tickets, and/or

  • Events

You can also set a limit on how many times the discount can be used on each product.

Additional benefits

Additional benefits are anything your club offers outside of Fanbase. You describe these in your membership listing, and it's your responsibility to fulfil them.

Before adding an offline benefit, make sure:

  • Your staff or partners know it exists and understand how to honour it

  • You can sustain it for the full duration of the membership

  • Members have a clear, consistent way to claim it

Clubs often ask Members to display their digital membership card available in their Fanbase wallet to claim benefits.

Here are examples of how to manage different types of Additional Benefits

Discounts at your bar, club shop, or partner businesses

Clubs often ask Members to display their digital membership card available in their Fanbase wallet to claim discounts from other vendors.

Make sure your staff and partners know what to look for and how to process the discount

Priority or early access to tickets

You can give your Members early access to tickets in a couple of ways

  1. Mark them as priority in your Fan Profiles. You can set up an email notification for each new member joining so you can keep on top of this easily; or

  2. Send them their own dedicated Allocation before general sale.

Exclusive content — behind-the-scenes access, video, newsletters, WhatsApp groups, prize draw entries

You could manage this via downloading all the emails and sending newsletters, sending them a link to a WhatsApp group

Member-only exclusive experiences and events

You can create events such as “Attend training session” or “Player Meet & Greet” and send them only to your Members.

Voting rights to help shape your club

If you want to give your members a say in some club decisions you can use the downloaded membership list to allow them to vote online or show their digital membership card in person.

Merch, memorabilia and membership cards

This could be on joining or as a birthday gift.

Sending out team merch or Membership memorabilia on joining could involve setting up notifications for new Members and then processing a complimentary merch order.

Or for birthday treats simply make sure you collect date of birth in the Membership set up and then regularly check for Member birthdays to ensure you don’t miss anyone out.
