Deactivating a team member temporarily removes their access to your LMS while keeping all of their data intact. This includes their learning progress, records, and any certificates they have earned or purchased.
This action is fully reversible, making it a safe way to manage users who no longer need immediate access.
What happens when a user is deactivated?
What happens when a user is deactivated?
When a user is deactivated:
Their access to the organisation’s LMS is suspended
They can no longer view assigned courses or learning paths
Their status is updated to “Inactive”
They are excluded from standard LMS reports (but can be included using filters)
All learning data, progress, and certificates are fully preserved
If the user is reactivated later, they will regain access to their account with all historical data intact.
Deactivating a user does not delete their account. They can still access courses as a regular Alison learner.
In some cases, learning paths may need to be reassigned after reactivation. |
