Immigration forms change often. But that doesn’t mean you need to waste time re-entering the same info again and again.
That’s why we’ve got two features to save your sanity:
✅ Copy to New Edition
✅ Autofill from Previous Edition
These tools help you:
Transfer data from old forms to new versions
Avoid manual entry errors
Work faster and stay consistent in your filings
🏷️ Understanding Form Labels
Here’s what each label means in the Forms module or Procedure view:
New: Recently added forms. This label stays for about a month.
New edition available: A newer version of the form is available. You can copy your data over.
Expired: This form is no longer valid (past expiry date).
Archived: Forms you've already copied/autofilled. These are saved for reference.
🧠Forms Checker
Keeping up with the latest USCIS form editions is essential for ensuring accuracy and compliance. The Forms Checker feature helps you identify outdated forms quickly—without having to manually inspect each one.
How it works:
In the Forms module, locate the Forms Checker icon in the top-left corner.
Click the icon to open the Forms Checker modal.
The modal will display any forms you've added that now have a newer edition available.
This feature is also available in Case > View All, where it appears as a Forms Check banner, alerting you to any updated forms in your case.
🔁 Option 1: Copy to New Edition
Use this when your current form has a “New edition available” label.
How to do it:
Go to the USCIS Forms module from the case view.
Find the form with “New edition available” label.
Click Copy to new edition.
In the preview modal, select the new edition.
Click Preview.
Review what data will transfer:
🔵 Blue = Will transfer
🔴 Red = Won’t transfer (due to form config changes by USCIS)
Confirm by clicking Add and Autofill.
You’ll be redirected to the new form with your data pre-filled.
Want to view the old form? Click the link next to the form name. It’s now archived.
📌 Note: You can also perform this action directly from the USCIS Forms view in your case. Just find the form with the “New edition available” label and follow the same steps.
🔄 Option 2: Autofill from Previous Edition
Use this when you’re starting a newer form and want to pull data from an older version.
How to do it:
Go to the USCIS Forms module from the case view.
Find the newer edition form that has a previous version available in the case.
Click the More options icon (⋯).
Select Autofill from previous edition.
In the preview modal, choose the previous form edition.
Click Preview.
Review what data will transfer:
🔵 Blue = Will transfer
🔴 Red = Won’t transfer (due to config changes)
Confirm by clicking Add and Autofill.
You’ll land on your form with the data already filled in.
The previous edition form will now be marked as archived.
📌 Note: You can also initiate this from the USCIS Forms view in your case. Look for the Autofill button and choose Autofill from previous edition.
The Copy to New Edition and Autofill from Previous Edition features are designed to simplify the form management process, reduce manual work, and ensure accuracy across filings. By reusing existing data, legal professionals can save valuable time and maintain consistency when working with updated USCIS forms.
