How Can I Communicate with My Lawyer?

n the Inbox section of the Client Portal, you can efficiently manage all your messages related to your immigration cases from your lawyers or their staff.

Inbox in Client Portal Overview

The Inbox is designed with four message groups/types to help you organize and access your communications effectively:

  1. All Messages

    This section displays a comprehensive list of all messages related to you in the right sidebar. It provides you with an overview of all the communications that are relevant to your cases. Here, you can view the entire message history.

  2. Direct Message

    In this section, you'll find a list of private messages that you've exchanged with a specific staff member or lawyer from your lawyer organization. These messages are one-on-one conversations, allowing for private and direct communication.

  3. Channel

    The Channel section lists messages that are attached to a specific case. When a message is associated with a case, all contributors from that case become participants in the channel. This feature enables group discussions where you can communicate with multiple people involved in the case.

  4. Pinned

    In the Pinned section, you can find a list of messages that you have pinned. Pinning messages allows you to prioritize important messages or mark messages that you wish to access quickly.

Key features in the Inbox include:

  • View Message Participants

    You can easily see the list of participants involved in a particular message or conversation. This helps you identify who is engaged in the discussion.

  • View Shared Documents and Media

    Any documents or media files shared within a message can be accessed directly from the Inbox. This makes it convenient to access shared resources.

  • Export Conversation to Excel

    If needed, you can export your conversation in a message to Excel. This feature is useful for record-keeping and documentation purposes.

  • Unsubscribe from Notifications

    If you no longer wish to receive notifications about a specific message, you have the option to unsubscribe. This prevents further notifications for that particular message.

The Inbox provides you with a centralized platform to manage all your case-related communications efficiently. With the different message groups/types and useful features, you can stay organized, collaborate effectively with your legal representatives, and access important information when you need it.
