How to Use the Glossary in the FV Portal
The FV Portal is a platform designed to help immigrants, HR professionals, and other users who might not be familiar with immigration terms. FastVisa has created a Glossary and Briefing Hub to assist lawyers in explaining these terms or other detailed memos to users. Here’s a comprehensive guide on how to effectively use the Glossary feature.
Using the Glossary
The Glossary acts as a repository of terms to help users understand immigration-related terminology. You can also use it to explain terms directly within tasks and cases.
Creating a Glossary Entry
Navigate to the admin settings of the FV Portal.
Click on the "Glossary and Articles" section.
Add a New Glossary Entry:
Click the [+ New] button to create a new glossary entry.
Enter the term name and provide a detailed description of the term.
Update an Existing Glossary Entry:
Click the edit icon next to the glossary entry you wish to update.
Make the necessary changes and save them. The updates will reflect immediately.
Delete a Glossary Entry:
Click the trash icon next to the glossary entry you want to delete.
The entry will be removed from the Glossary page and any tasks or cases where it was used.
Adding Glossary Terms to a Task
Edit a Task:
While updating a task from any view (case#show, case view all, or global task), locate the link with the glossary field.
Select the Glossary Term:
Choose the appropriate glossary term from the dropdown menu to explain the term within the task.
Update the Task:
Click the [Update task] button to save the changes.
The glossary term is now successfully linked to your task.
Adding Glossary Terms to a Case
Access the Case Show Page:
Go to the case show page of the relevant case.
Open Case Details:
Click on the details section in the case's right sidebar.
Select the Glossary Term:
Find the glossary field and select the glossary term you want to associate with the case.
Update the Case:
Click the [Update] button to save the changes.
The glossary term is now successfully linked to your case.
Viewing the Glossary in FV Portal
Clients, HR professionals, and other users of the FV Portal can view glossary terms within tasks if the tasks are marked as milestones. These milestones will appear in the progress sidebar with a '?' icon next to the task title and also besides the case title of sponsored employee cases.
When users click on this icon, a tooltip will display the term and its description. Users can also navigate to the full Glossary page by clicking on 'View Glossary' within the tooltip.
Accessing the Glossary and Briefing Hub
FV Portal users can view all glossary terms by clicking the '?' menu to access the Glossary and Briefing Hub page.
Filtering Glossary Terms:
Users can filter glossary terms by the initial alphabet, making it easier to find specific terms.
By following these steps, you can efficiently create, manage, and utilize glossary terms within the FV Portal. This ensures that all users, including clients and HR professionals, have clear and easy access to detailed explanations of important immigration terms.
