Every Experience has a minimum and a maximum group size, set by Fernwayer and the Experience Maker together.
Here's what they mean for you.
Minimum group size
Many Experiences have a minimum group size — the smallest number of people the price is built around. It's set so the Experience can be delivered well and remains viable to run, whatever the size of the booking.
If your party is smaller than the minimum, you can still book. You'll pay a minimum experience price adjustment — an amount that brings your total up to the minimum group's total. In other words, the cost is calculated as if the minimum number of people were attending.
For example: if an Experience is priced at $100 per person with a minimum group size of 4, the minimum total is $400. A smaller party can still book — they'd pay the $400 total. You'll see this clearly at checkout before you confirm and purchase the experience.
Maximum group size
Every Experience also has a maximum group size, up to 8 people — though many Experience Makers set theirs lower, to keep the day intimate. Most Fernwayer bookings are for 2 to 4 people.
If you'd like to book for a group larger than the maximum shown, contact Fernwayer. We'll check with the Experience Maker whether it can be accommodated, and at what price.
Traveling solo
You're very welcome to book as a solo traveler.
A few Experiences have a minimum group size of 1, so you simply pay the per-person price.
Most of our Experiences have a higher minimum (a minimum of 2 or 4). You can still book solo by paying the minimum experience price adjustment, and travelers usually find that a solo booking gives them a more personal, unhurried, and highly personalized day as a result.
A small number of Experiences are Shared, where you may join a limited group of other travelers — or it may be just you. These can be booked for just one person. (More in Private and Shared Experiences.)
