Summary
Tags are words you create for grouping customers together. For example, group customers together with specific problems, such as fleas, rats, stinging insects, etc. Or, create "How did you hear of us" tags, such as Google, Yelp, Referral, etc.
You can then view all customers with fleas, or all customers who said they found you using Ask Jeeves, for example.

Click the Settings icon in the upper-right corner
Under Company Setup, click Tags
Click the New Tag button in the upper right
Enter a tag name, such as bed bugs, termites, fleas, etc.
Click Create Tag
Repeat this for other tags you want to apply to your customers, such as rats, spiders, etc.
Apply a tag to a customer
From the Dashboard, click Customers
Click a customer who is having a problem that matches a tag
On the right side, under Billing Information, click your mouse in the Tags box and type the name of the tag.
Repeat this for all other customers for whom you want to apply a tag to.
View customers who have a specific tag applied
To view customers who have a specific tag applied:
From the Dashboard, click Customers
The tags are shown in the left pane of the customer list beginning under Sent to Collections
Click a tag to see all the customers whom you've applied that tag to
Create a Marketing Campaign to email tagged customers
