Welcome to the Resistance Training section of Edge.

This is where you build real strength, develop lean muscle and feel more confident in your body. Whether your goal is to get stronger, tone up or simply feel more capable in everyday life, resistance training plays a huge role.

We have designed your plan to grow with you, match your ability and fit into the rest of your training. Let’s break it down together:

What is Resistance Training

Resistance training is any kind of movement where your muscles work against a force. That force can come from dumbbells, resistance bands, machines or just your own bodyweight. The aim is simple. Get stronger over time and build muscle that supports the rest of your training.

At Edge, we mix strength and functional movements to give you the most effective sessions possible.

What You Will Be Doing

1. Compound Movements

Why it matters
These are big powerful exercises that work multiple muscle groups at once. Think squats, deadlifts, bench presses and pull ups.

How it helps
This is the fastest way to build strength, improve coordination and get stronger where it really counts. These form the base of your resistance training plan.

2. Isolation Exercises

Why it matters
Sometimes you want to zoom in on a specific area like biceps, calves, glutes or shoulders.

How it helps
These smaller movements help with specific goals and improve any imbalances which can reduce injury risk.

3. Progressive Overload

Why it matters
Strength training only works if you keep challenging yourself.

How it helps
Edge tracks your lifts, reps and progress over time. We gradually push you with heavier loads or new variations so your muscles get stronger and adapting.

4. Recovery and Muscle Repair

Why it matters
Your muscles grow when you rest, not when you train. Recovery is part of the work.

How it helps
Edge gives you the structure to balance work and rest. We will prompt you on when to pull back, fuel well and recover properly so you feel strong going into each session.

Why Resistance Training Matters

Lifting weights is not just for bodybuilders. Resistance training helps you:

  • Build muscle and improve your body's composition

  • Strengthen your bones and joints

  • Improve your posture and performance

  • Boost your confidence and natural endorphins

This kind of training also improves how you perform and recover in your HIIT workouts. It all connects.

Getting Started

  • Log in to your Edge account to see your strength plan

  • Follow the workouts each week. You will know which days are focused on resistance

  • Track your progress with weights, reps and how you are feeling

  • Focus on form first. Take your time with new movements and use the exercise guides
