Burnout happens when your body or mind has had enough. It can creep in slowly or hit hard when you least expect it. Maybe you are training a lot, juggling a busy life or just trying to do everything at once without giving yourself enough time to rest.

At Edge, our job is to help you progress without running yourself into the ground. Here is how to spot the signs and what to do if they show up.

What is Burnout

Burnout is more than just feeling tired. It is when your body or mind cannot recover properly between sessions. You might be doing too much, too often, or not taking time to rest.

It is common in people who train hard and care about their goals. But the good news is it can be prevented and managed with the right plan.

Signs You Might Be Burnt Out

  • You feel tired all the time, even after sleeping

  • Your workouts feel harder than usual

  • Your motivation drops and you start dreading training

  • You feel more anxious, snappy or low in mood

  • You keep picking up little injuries or getting sick

  • You cannot fall asleep easily or wake up feeling unrested

  • Things that used to feel fun now feel like a chore

How Edge Helps You Avoid Burnout

Personalised training
Your plan is built around your goals and recovery needs. You are not expected to train at full tilt every day. We scale intensity based on what your body can handle.

Planned recovery
Rest days and easier sessions are built in on purpose. They are not a sign of weakness. They are where your progress actually happens.

Real time adjustments
If you start showing signs of fatigue, your plan can be tweaked. We monitor trends and respond to what you are feeling.

Support whenever you need it
You can message us in the app any time. If something feels off, we can talk through your training and help you reset.

Whole body approach
We care about more than just your training numbers. We encourage sleep, rest, good food and looking after your headspace too.

What You Can Do

  • Take rest seriously. One day off can save a whole week of burnout.

  • Sleep more. It is your number one recovery tool.

  • Eat enough. Undereating while training hard is a fast track to fatigue.

  • Talk to us. If you are unsure what is normal, we are here to help.

Please remember

At Edge, we do not provide individual nutrition or medical advice. If you are experiencing extreme fatigue, emotional distress or ongoing issues with food or sleep, speak to a qualified health professional.
