Logging Equipment Meter Readings with QR Codes

Let anyone scan a QR code to log a meter reading on equipment - no FlowPath login required.

FlowPath now includes a dedicated public page for logging meter readings on equipment and sub-equipment. Anyone can scan a QR code or visit a direct link to submit a reading - no FlowPath account needed.

This is ideal for operators, drivers, or technicians who need to log mileage, hours, or other usage data quickly without navigating the full system.

How to Get the QR Code or Link

Ensure that the QR codes are enabled in Global Settings > Equipment > Public Meter Reading Link. This adds a copy/paste link and QR code under each equipment & sub-equipment's Meter Readings section so anyone can submit a reading for that asset. Choose whether the links are open to anyone (Public) or require SSO, and turn the feature on or off.

  1. Open an equipment or sub-equipment record in FlowPath.

  2. Navigate to the Meter Readings section on the equipment detail page.

  3. Click Print QR Code or Copy Link.

  4. Print the QR code and attach it to the equipment, or share the link directly with your team.

How Readings Are Submitted

When someone scans the QR code or visits the link, they'll see a simple form with just one field: the meter reading value. They enter the number and submit — that's it. No login, no extra steps.

Viewing and Managing Readings

All submitted readings appear in the Meter Readings section of the equipment detail page, visible to your FlowPath team.

SSO Option: If your organization uses SSO, public meter reading pages can be placed behind your SSO login for added security.
