How To Enable Push Notifications For Your Account (Admins)

Set up push notifications for your FlowPath account: enable the account setting, configure work order notifications, and help users register their devices.

Push notifications let your team get work order updates directly on their phones through the FlowPath mobile app. As an admin, you control which notifications are sent and who receives them.

Step 1: Configure work order notifications

Push notification settings for work orders are blank by default, so you'll need to choose which events send notifications and to whom. In your work order notification settings, enable push notifications for the notification types you want (for example, Work Order Assigned) and choose which roles receive them, such as Operations and Admin.

You can also choose the layout of the push notification. The layout options are limited, but they let you control what shows up in the notification your users receive.

These notifications are set at the instance level, so they apply account-wide. You can also manage custom notifications on a per-user basis.

Step 3: Have users enable push notifications on their devices

The settings above control what gets sent - each user still needs to opt in on their own device. To do this, the user downloads the FlowPath app on their phone or device, opens the app, goes to their user profile, and toggles on push notifications.

When a user turns the toggle on, FlowPath registers and identifies that device. Note: the toggle is unavailable while assuming another user - each person must enable it themselves while signed in to their own account.

Managing registered devices

You can see all of a user's registered devices from their user profile in Settings. Admins can remove a device if needed - for example, when someone gets a new phone or leaves the team.

Quick checklist

Push notifications are delivered only when all three of these are in place: the account-level push setting is enabled (can be confirmed through your CSM or via live chat), the notification is enabled in your work order notification settings, and the user has toggled on push notifications in the app on their device.
