What are Virtual Incentives?

VI sends gift cards on the health plan/Foodsmart’s behalf.
Why is Foodsmart providing virtual incentives?
IMPORTANT: Virtual incentives are provided by the HEALTH PLAN and Foodsmart is simply the distributor.
Taking the step to distribute incentives has allowed health plans to provide food to members in ways they were not able or interested in before, which improves food insecurity for thousands of people!
What can be purchased with the Virtual Incentive
Virtual Incentives are for Walmart gift cards at this time. They can be used to make purchases at Walmart.com or in the store.
What does the Virtual Incentive email look like in a member's inbox
The email subject line is: Foodsmart Sent You a Virtual Gift Card
The email sender address is: reward@virtualrewardcenter.com
What if the incentive isn’t working?
Please try to troubleshoot with members as a first step using knowledge in this document.
Step 1. Work with the member to search their inbox. The best way to do this is to ask them to search “Foodsmart Sent You a Virtual Gift Card” in their email search bar and in their SPAM folder.
Step 2. If they received the incentive but the actual money is not “working”, please ensure that the
member has claimed their award. They should have a screen that says “Here is your virtual reward” with
a SKU bar code.
Step 3. If there is no solution, please have the member email support@virtualincentives.com. Once claimed, we do not have access to the incentive information.
When are the Virtual Incentives sent
The Monday after the patient completes an activity.
Can Virtual Incentives be resent
Yes, if a member cannot find it in their email, Foosdmart can resend the link to the member.
What if the member does not have an email
A simple Gmail email address can be set up during a visit to help the member.
Virtual incentives expired
Virtual Incentives (virtual Walmart gift cards) expire 90 days after being issued and the expiration is explicitly mentioned under the reward in the email when sent to the member.
