Introduction

The Forento website builder is a full drag-and-drop editor that provides coaches, educators, and entrepreneurs with powerful tools to build virtually any website imaginable.

You can create responsive, SEO-friendly, and high-converting sales pages or professional, multi-page websites. The editor works with pre-designed elements and blocks that you can easily drag and drop onto your website, making it easy for anyone to build a site for their business.

In this guide, we will cover how to get your website up and ready for visitors.

Enabling the website builder

When you first visit the website tab, you'll be asked to enable the website. Once you've done this, you can start creating your website.

Picking your template & subdomain

When you've enabled the website, you'll be asked to select a template for your website. The templates are built for use cases such as "๐ŸŽค Public Speaker", "๐Ÿง  Mindset Coach" and "๐ŸŽธ Musician". The templates include a handful of pre-built pages, such as "About us/me" "Courses" and a "home" page.

Before picking a template, you can preview them as live websites. Here's a list of the available templates:

After having selected a template, you can change your website template at any time. Here is a guide: How do I change my website template?

Once you've selected a template, you'll be asked to pick a subdomain. The domain is free, and is structured as "example.forento.site". You can change your website subdomain at any time on the platform customization page.

You can continue using the free subdomain as your website address or replace it by connecting a custom domain later. Here is a guide on how to connect a custom domain to your platform & website: ๐Ÿ”— Connecting a custom domain

Replacing content

Each template has three or more pre-built pages, usually linked in the main menu header. As an example, the "๐Ÿง  Mindset Coach" template includes five pages.

Depending on what sort of website you're building, you might want to replace, remove, or add pages. You can do this by first going to the website editor dashboard -> pages. Here's a guide to managing your website pages: Website Pages

Each page consists of elements. As an example, the first section of the "๐Ÿง  Mindset Coach" template, includes (in ascending order):

  1. A Title element

  2. A Paragraph element

  3. A button element

Other than these three core elements, most templates also include a contact form, social media sharing buttons, and images among other elements.

In case you're happy with the outline of your website, you may not want to do much customization outside of swapping out images, text, and other core content. You can edit any element on your website by simply clicking on it. Some elements are edited directly, whereas others are more complex and include setting views.

"Programming" buttons

For most templates, there are buttons placed around all pages. All of these can be edited, moved, or deleted by you. By clicking on a button in edit mode, you can change the visual style, settings, and link.

To make it easy for visitors to access your platform, we suggest you add at least one:

  • Sign-up/log-in button

  • Offer button

The sign-up/log-in button will allow visitors to easily navigate to where they will be able to create an account for your platform or log in (if they are existing members of your platform). The offer button would usually lead to any product (digital download, course, coaching service) or membership offer. This is so that visitors easily can find what you're offering on your platform.

To have functioning buttons on your website, you need to either add a button element or edit a button that came with your template, to add links.

When editing the link for the button, you'll be able to enter any URL from your actual platform as an "external link". Here's a guide on how to add grab URLs and add them to buttons on your website: How do I add platform buttons to my website?

Additional (optional) customization

Depending on what plans you have, you might want to add even more content to your website. Other than these core elements, you can also add:

  • Videos or GIFs

  • Blog articles

  • Your Instagram (or other social media) feed

  • Embedded Calendly Calendar

  • Custom HTML

  • Typeform

  • And much much more...
