How to Factory Reset a RoboCap

Follow the steps below to factory reset your RoboCap using the RoboCap Control Center.

⚠️ Important: A factory reset will erase all recorded data on the RoboCap and restore the device to its default configuration. This action is irreversible, and deleted data cannot be recovered. Make sure you have exported any data you want to keep before proceeding.

Step 1: Power On RoboCap

  1. Connect RoboCap to a power bank using a USB-C cable.

  2. Toggle the Power Switch to ON.

  3. Wait for RoboCap to finish powering on.

Keep RoboCap connected to the power bank throughout the factory reset process to prevent the device from losing power.

Step 2: Connect to the RoboCap Wi-Fi

On your computer or laptop:

  1. Open your Wi-Fi settings.

  2. Find the Wi-Fi network starting with Robocap_. For example: Robocap_2cf

  3. Connect using the default password: 12345678

Note: Your computer must be connected to the RoboCap Wi-Fi to access the RoboCap Control Center.

Step 3: Open the RoboCap Control Center

Once your computer is connected to the RoboCap Wi-Fi:

  1. Open a browser.

  2. Enter 192.168.11.1 in the browser address bar.

  3. The RoboCap Control Center will open.

If the page does not open, check that your computer is still connected to the RoboCap Wi-Fi.

Step 4: Connect to RoboCap

At the top of the RoboCap Control Center:

  1. Enter 192.168.11.1 in the RoboCap IP Address field.

  2. Click Connect MQTT.

  3. Wait for Connection Status to change from Disconnected to Connected.

Do not continue until the status shows Connected.

Step 5: Check the Current Storage

Under Device Properties, scroll down to the Storage section.

Check the values for Used and Data Duration.

For example:

  • Used: 3575 MB

  • Data Duration: 180 min

If there is data shown under these fields, the RoboCap contains recorded data that has not yet been cleared.

Step 6: Factory Reset RoboCap

  1. Click the Service Calls tab in the RoboCap Control Center.

  2. Scroll to the bottom of the page.

  3. Find the Factory Reset section.

  4. Click Factory Reset.

  5. When the reset command is accepted, you should see Call successful.

⚠️ Do not turn off RoboCap or disconnect the power bank while the factory reset is in progress.

During the reset, your computer will disconnect from the RoboCap Wi-Fi. This is expected. Wait for the RoboCap Wi-Fi network to become available again before continuing.

Step 7: Reconnect to RoboCap

Once the RoboCap Wi-Fi network becomes available again:

  1. Open your computer's Wi-Fi settings.

  2. Reconnect to the Robocap_xxx Wi-Fi network.

  3. Open your browser and go to 192.168.11.1.

  4. Enter 192.168.11.1 in the RoboCap IP Address field.

  5. Click Connect MQTT.

  6. Wait until Connection Status shows Connected.

Step 8: Confirm the Factory Reset

Under Device Properties, scroll down to the Storage section again.

Confirm that:

  • Used: 0 MB

  • Data Duration: 0 min

If both Used and Data Duration have returned to 0, the factory reset was successful.

Your RoboCap is now ready to use again.
