EarthRovers privacy blurring feature

Updated over a week ago

EarthRovers are equipped with cameras, and when you drive in public areas such as parks, you might encounter people who could be concerned about being recorded. To address these concerns, weโ€™ve added a blurring feature to Earth Rovers.

How it Works

This feature automatically blurs human faces in real-time, including children, captured by the robot's front camera. Blurring is applied continuously throughout the drive, both when driving a mission in EarthRovers School and personal EarthRovers.

For best results, faces should be within approximately 2 meters of the camera. The blurring effect is similar to the example shown below:

Note: This feature is still a work in progress, and we are continuously working to improve its effectiveness.
