Here at FBB we write our repetition scheme structures a little differently so they are better differentiated from our method of writing TEMPO.
Traditionally, training programs will state 4x3 to designate "four sets of three repetitions." We think the traditional training format 4x3 looks too similar to our method of writing TEMPO (30X1). Because of this, you may see a repetition scheme written in your Persist program that looks like this: 4,4,4. When you see numbers separated by commas like this you should interpret it as three sets of four reps. Sets one through three will have four repetitions each. If written traditionally, it would be read as 3x4.
PERSIST TRAINING EXAMPLE
Front Squat; 20X1; 2,2,2
rest 2mins between sets
To perform the above example you would do the following:
Set 1: 2 front squat repetitions at 20X1 tempo, rest 2 minutes
Set 2: 2 front squat repetitions at 20X1 tempo, rest 2 minutes
Set 3 - 2 front squat repetitions at 20X1 tempo, rest 2 minutes
