An Excel organisation is created entirely from data uploaded from an Excel spreadsheet. This is a useful way to add data to Futrli when you don't use a direct integration with a product like Sage Accounting.
Using Excel as your source, you can import financial data for monthly, quarterly, or annual periods. For example, you can export a monthly Profit and Loss (Income statement) and Balance Sheet report from your accounting system to Excel. You can then adjust it to conform to our Futrli import template.
Is there a cost to use Excel organisations within Futrli?
Excel organisations are charged on the same basis as using any other integrated organisation. You can find pricing at futrli.com/pricing.
Who can use this feature within Futrli?
Only the following user roles can add an Excel organisation into Futrli, and then add data to it.
Workspace Owner
Super Administrator
Administrator
Data Manager
📎 NOTE: A People Manager or a Guest user won’t have the permission to either add or update an Excel organisation. However, they’ll be able to use Futrli like they do with any other organisation.
How to create an Excel organisation
You create an Excel organisation from the same area that you would add any other organisation.
How to update an Excel organisation
After you create an Excel organisation, the organisation can be updated with a subsequent upload. The last uploaded file can be downloaded from Futrli, updated in Excel, then re-uploaded. Any changes in the spreadsheet will then override the previously uploaded data.
What features are available in an Excel organisation?
The majority of features are available in an Excel organisation, with the exception of features that use invoice information.
Integrations with Sage Accounting, QuickBooks Online and Xero will bring through invoice information, whereas Excel organisations import account balances.
Performance:
In the Performance section, pre-built Profit & Loss and Balance Sheet dashboards are available for Excel organisations as soon as the organisation is uploaded. There will however be no Customers and Suppliers tab, or pre-built Cash Flow dashboard, as these both require invoice information.
Forecasts:
You can create 1-year P&L or 3-year Cash Flow forecasts with an Excel organisation. However, the 3-year Cash Flow with due invoices won’t be available. All options to create a new forecast will be available, other than the auto-predictions method, which will require invoice information.
Reports:
Full reporting functionality is available, other than pre-built widgets using invoice information.
📌TIP: Did you know?
If you sign up to Sage Accounting, you can sync your account directly with Futrli without having to upload data manually.
