If Fyxer AI assigns the wrong category to an email, you can manually update it in Outlook. This helps keep your inbox organized and teaches Fyxer AI your preferences over time.

How to manually change a category (Outlook Web & Desktop)

Outlook Web:

  1. Open the email you want to re-categorize.

  2. Click the "Categorize" button (you may see it as a colored square or tag icon).

  3. Select the correct category from the dropdown list.

  4. If needed, choose "Manage Categories" to create or rename your categories.

Outlook Desktop (New Version):

  1. Right-click on the email you want to update.

  2. Hover over “Categorize” in the menu.

  3. Select the appropriate category from the list.

  4. If you'd like to edit, click “All Categories” to manage colors, names, or add new ones.

How to use Fyxer AI's email rules:

You can also set up custom Email Rules to automatically label incoming messages. This is especially useful for repetitive or predictable senders.

  • Go to your Fyxer AI Dashboard > Settings > Email Rules

  • Create a rule based on:

    • Email address (e.g., jenny@company.com)

    • Domain (e.g., *@newsletter.com)

    • Subject keyword (e.g., “Weekly Report”)

  • Choose the category you want that rule to apply (e.g., assign newsletters to “2: FYI” instead of “8: Marketing”)

This keeps your inbox cleaner and ensures emails are sorted how you want - without manual effort each time.
