This guide will help Admins get their companies Slack integrated with Gable

In this article, we're going to cover how to integrate Gable with Slack and why you might want to.

Where do I go to set up my Slack integration?

You set up your Slack integration on this page under admin settings.

Please follow these steps below

You'll go to your Gable Dashboard and choose "company settings"

Then you'll go to the left side of your screen and hit "integrations"

You'll then hit the Slack icon to integrate. Please note that you'll want to have already set up the Slack Channels that you'd like your messages to get assigned to before this part below is done. Please note that all bookings you do not have assigned to a specific channel in your Slack, those will go to your General Slack channel.

Hit "connect" on the Slack Icon, if it's already sync'd you'll hit "connected"

You'll then get sent to this confirmation and verification page, you'll hit "allow"

Once you hit "allow" it will take you to this page where you'll be adding your pre-created channels in Slack to get them sync'd.

If you are also sync'd this by location you'd enter it under the "all locations" field and choose from your locations

You can also add a city and state as well in the following field. Once you have all this entered you will hit "save" and that is it. Your Slack is now integrated with Gable, that is amazing news!

What does this integration do?

  • This integration will allow you to sync Slack with Gable. You can see the benefits below:

  • Booking Notifications

    • Each booking placed will send a notification to slack. These notifications will be delivered to the default Gable channel or the location-based channels you set up for the team.

    • Once your slack channels are created, they can be assigned to locations as shown below (for a detailed review of this, see the loom video above). Any notifications not assigned to specific location-based channels will be routed to your default channel in slack.

  • Easy Admin Approvals

    • With the slack integration in place, admins will easily be able to approve or deny bookings made by their team (if applicable).

  • Slack: User App

    • The Gable app within slack can be downloaded just like any other slack app. Select the "+add apps" button under apps and search for Gable.

    • From here, users can link their Gable account and will now receive personal notifications for all bookings made through slack.

      • Send messages as @Gable

      • Send messages to channels @Gable isn't a member of

    • Perform actions in your workspace

      • Add shortcuts and/or slash commands that people can use
