TL;DR:
Use the Quick Actions > Replace Ingredients tool to update an ingredient across multiple recipes at once — with full control over which recipes, how it's measured, and what nutrition or crediting changes it causes.

🚀 Start with Quick Actions

To begin a bulk ingredient replacement:

  1. Click “Quick Actions” in the top menu.

  2. Select “Replace Ingredients.”

🥬 Choose the Ingredient to Replace

  1. Pick the ingredient you want to replace (e.g., Spring Mix Blend).

  2. Select the new ingredient (e.g., Green Leaf Lettuce).

📊 See Nutritional & Crediting Impact

As soon as you make your selection, Gaia will:

  • Automatically calculate the impact on calories

  • Flag any meal crediting changes (e.g., if a different portion size is required to meet standards)

This helps ensure compliance with nutritional guidelines before confirming changes.

✅ Select Recipes to Update

You can:

  • Apply to all recipes that use the original ingredient, or

  • Select specific recipes to update (great for piloting a change or handling exceptions)

⚖️ Adjust Measurements as Needed

Sometimes Gaia can automatically map measurements. Other times, you’ll need to help it out.

For example:

  • If one recipe uses “2 oz spring mix” and another uses “1 cup shredded”, Gaia might need help matching that to leaf lettuce.

  • You can manually select the correct measurement mapping when needed.
