In this guide, we will walk through the new status called "Do not restock" and provide steps on how to apply it to your products.
How does the status work?
The "Do not restock" status works as a way for you to tag/indicate products that are being discontinued or, for now, will not need to be replenished. When applied to a product, it will exclude it from appearing in PO searches, the Buy Now table, and the Stockout risk and Out of Stock reports.
You are still able to report on and track these products, but you won't see them in key places where you could potentially add them to a new order.
How to apply the status?
Adding this status to your products is just as easy as adding a new tag.
Step 1: Select the product(s) the status will be applied to.
From the inventory, you can select as many products as you would like. We would recommend using a filter if you want to apply this to large groups of products to make this process easier.
Step 2: Click the "Actions" button and select "Do not restock" from the list.
Once you have selected the product you don't want to restock anymore, you can use the actions to apply the new status. This new status will override the current status, regardless of what it is.
Step 3: Use the dropdown to select the option Do not restock.
From the side peak window, you will be able to see the current setting, which will always default to "Automatic Mapping," which means that your insights will dictate the status of the product. Selecting Do not restock will override that mapping and apply this one until you remove it.
After you've made your selection, you can click apply, and you will see the new status alongside your product.
Now, if you go and search for this product in the PO section, you won't be able to find it. If you choose later down the line to re-introduce this product, you can follow these steps once more but instead opt to update the status to "Automatic mapping."
