Genie is joining Doss to scale the mission we started together: better ops for entrepreneurial brands. As part of that transition, the Genie app will sunset on August 31, 2025.

In this article, we will be discussing refunds and billing during our sunsetting. If you have any questions or concerns, please don't hesitate to reach out to us at aladdin@getgenie.io.

1. I was on an annual plan. Will I get a refund?

Yes, you will receive a refund for any unused prepaid time from July 10, 2025 (when all accounts moved to Unlimited Free) through the end of your paid annual term. This means that you will be refunded for the remaining days of your annual plan after July 10, 2025.

2. How is my refund calculated?

Your refund will be calculated using a daily pro-rata formula. This formula takes into account your annual fee and the number of prepaid days after July 10, 2025. The formula is as follows: Annual fee ÷ 365 × prepaid days after July 10, 2025.

For example, if you were on a $499 annual plan that started on September 9, 2024 (ends September 8, 2025), you would have 61 prepaid days after July 10, 2025. This means that your refund would be approximately $83.36 (61/365 * $499).

3. How and when will I receive my refund?

We will email all eligible annual customers with information about their refund. Refunds will most likely be processed through Stripe, but we may ask you to confirm your payout details. Please keep an eye on your inbox so that we can issue your refund promptly.

4. I was on a monthly plan. Do I get anything back?

If you were on a monthly plan, your billing stopped before July 10, 2025. All monthly accounts were moved to Unlimited Free through August 31, 2025. This means that you will not be charged for any months after July 10, 2025. You do not need to take any action, and you will not receive a refund.
