Your wish is our command!

We have heard your calls for a dashboard and can happily say it is finally available! At Genie we want you to get the most out of your data, and what better way than having a single source of truth?

With that in mind let me take you through a quick Dashboard overview.

You can find your dashboard above the inventory table tab on the navigation menu.

The dashboard will give you a comprehensive overview of your products, including their statuses, value, and if their at risk of stocking out.

Starting at the top, we've got your Inventory Statuses. This will show you products/variants that are Running low, Out of stock, No sales, or Overstocked. If any of your products fall into one of these categories you will see the number of products, a percentage, and icons for each one. Here you can see that we have 11 out-of-stock products, which is 7% of our catalog.

From here we can get a more detailed look at these products by selecting the icon in the top right corner of the card. This will open a separate tab to your inventory table where you can see more details about the products that fit the given criteria, in this case, these products are all out of stock.

Now, back to the dashboard. Below the inventory status section is the Inventory Value section. Here you can find a cost breakdown of your entire inventory. This includes how much capital is tied up in products with no sales and overstocked ones. This can be helpful to know when it comes to making decisions later down the road.

The Cost Value is calculated through this formula:

Shopify unit cost per variant x Inventory on hand for that variant

The Retail Value is calculated through this formula:

Shopify listing price for that variant x Inventory on hand

Remember that this breakdown of costs hinges on accurate unit costs in Shopify. So if you haven't already you should add those to your products within Genie.

Below that, you can see products that are at risk of stocking out. In our case, we don't have any. But if you do, they will come up as a card, and you can select the icon in the top right of the card and see exactly what products are at risk. It will also show you whether you have products in transit and how long you have to order more stock.

And finally, in the top right-hand corner, you can see a breakdown of what you have in stock, your total number of variants, and what you can expect coming in in the next few days.

That concludes our tour through Genie's new Dashboard feature. We hope that having all of this information in one spot makes it easier for you to understand how your inventory is performing. And as always, feel free to reach out if you have any questions or concerns. Happy analysis!
