Quick things to know about fees
Platform Fee: We charge a small platform fee for managing your investments.
ChipX: If you're a ChipX member, you won't pay a platform fee.
Fund Management Charge: Fund providers also charge a separate fee for managing their funds, which applies to all members.
How it's charged: All fees are calculated annually but collected from you on a monthly basis.
What is a platform fee?
The platform fee is a small charge you pay to us for providing and managing your investment account. We want to be clear that we never charge any extra fees when you buy or sell funds, so there are no per-trade or broker fees to worry about.
How it works:
It’s a percentage of your balance: The fee is calculated based on the value of your investments, including any gains.
Charged monthly, shown annually: We collect the fee each month, but we show you the equivalent annual percentage rate to make it easy to understand.
You’ll see it in your statements: You can find a record of this fee in your contract notes and quarterly statements.
Platform fees by plan
Plan | Platform Fee |
Chip | 0.25% annually, charged monthly (min £1/month per account) |
ChipX | 0% platform fee |
Just a heads-up: The £1 minimum is charged per investment account. So, if you have both an Investment ISA and a GIA, the minimum may be applied to each one separately.
What other fees are there?
In addition to our platform fee, each investment fund also charges a separate fund management fee. This is set by the fund provider, like BlackRock, not by us.
These fees are unique to each fund. You'll always find the exact charge on the fund's page in the app.
They're taken directly from your investment value, so you won't see them as a separate charge.
Is there a cost to join ChipX?
Yes, ChipX is a paid membership that gives you access to a range of extra benefits.
You can choose to pay monthly or annually:
Monthly: £5.99 every 28 days
Annually: £65.05 (this works out to £4.99 every 28 days)
You can view all plan benefits and compare pricing on our pricing page →
Will fees ever change?
We might need to change our fees in the future, but we'll always give you at least two months' notice. We'll make sure you're fully informed about any changes before they happen.
