Quick things to know
Chip charges a platform fee for managing your investments
ChipX has no platform fee
Fund providers also charge a management fee - this is regardless of the plan you're on
Fees are charged monthly but are shown annually
What is a platform fee?
The platform fee is what you pay to Chip for providing and managing your investment account.
It’s charged as a percentage of your balance (including gains)
Collected monthly, shown as an annual percentage
You’ll see this fee in your contract notes and quarterly statements
Platform fees by plan
Plan | Platform Fee |
Chip | 0.25% annually, charged monthly (min £1/month per account) |
ChipX | 0% platform fee |
Note: The £1 monthly minimum applies per investment account. So if you have both an ISA and a GIA, each may be charged separately.
What other fees are there?
Each investment fund also charges an annual management fee. This is set by the fund provider, not by Chip.
These fees vary by fund
You can find them in each fund’s Key Investor Information Document (KIID)
These fees are taken directly from your investment value
Is there a cost to join ChipX?
Yes. ChipX costs:
£5.99 every 28 days (monthly)
Or £65.05 annually (which works out as £4.99 every 28 days)
You can view all plan benefits and compare pricing on our pricing page →
Will fees ever change?
We may change our fees, but we’ll always give you at least 2 months’ notice if we do.
