After each scan, IMIN shows you which nervous system state you're in. This article is about how to relate to that state.
For a breakdown of your results page and what each reading is, see Understanding your results.
Your body is your ally
Every state your nervous system enters is purposeful. Whether you're activated, balanced, or somewhere else on the spectrum, your body is trying to protect and support you. These aren't good or bad states. They're your body's intelligent responses to your environment and experiences.
Every signal is your body asking for support, not punishment.
Why your state changes
Your nervous system state shifts through the day based on:
What you're doing
What you're thinking about
Your environment
Recent experiences
Physical needs (hunger, fatigue, and so on)
Time of day
These shifts are normal and healthy. Your nervous system is designed to be dynamic, not static.
Working with any state
Rather than trying to change your state, start here:
Acknowledge it: "My nervous system is activated right now"
Appreciate it: "My body is trying to help me handle something"
Support it: use IMIN's recommended techniques for your current state
The techniques IMIN suggests aren't meant to "fix" your state. They're designed to support your nervous system in whatever state it's in.

Your current state is always valid. It's your body's best attempt to navigate this moment. IMIN is here to help you understand and support your nervous system, not judge it or change it.
