Want to convert units in a recipe?
meez's built-in database of ingredients ensures that every unit will convert the right way. So when you convert kosher salt from lbs to cups, or Xantham gum from grams to teaspoons, meez makes sure it's an accurate conversion!
1) Make sure you're in view mode.
2) Click the unit you'd like to change and type a new one. Then hit Enter.
Always double-check the units entered for each ingredient to ensure they align with your recipe requirements.
Use standard abbreviations (e.g., 'qt' for quart) to maintain consistency.
Regularly review your ingredient list to ensure all units are correctly specified and avoid potential errors.
By following these guidelines, you can streamline your recipe and ingredient setup process in meez and minimize errors related to units of measure.
Customize It
Conversions are customizable for ever ingredient and recipe in meez. A UoM Equivalency error may occur if the app cannot convert between the units you’ve entered. This typically happens when the ingredient does not have a unit specified, causing the app to default to 'each,' which may not be convertible to other units like 'quart'.
Using the Unit of Measure Equivalency tab on either the ingredient page or the recipe page to edit the conversions. To resolve UoM Equivalency errors, ensure that a valid volume or weight measure (e.g., tsp, fl-oz, etc.) is entered for the ingredient and avoid leaving the unit field blank to prevent defaulting to 'each.'
For example, if your recipe is 4oz per portion, you can indicate that in the UoM equivalency of the recipe.
Here's what the UoM Equivalency tab looks like when you're editing:
