What criteria do we take into account in the evolution of the level of play?

Previous steps to know your level

In order for you to sign up for one of the Public Matches in the Playtomic app, we need to know your level of play in the selected sport (tennis or padel)

The first time you land in our application, you will have to answer a level test with several questions that will result in a numerical figure that we set as the initial level. The level test to determine your initial level can only be done once, it is not possible to do it several times.

As you play games, your level will fluctuate depending on your results.

What parameters are taken into account for levelling?

To know how much your level has to change, we take into account the result of the match and the level of the other players, both the rivals and your partner.

If you manage to win players who have a higher level than yours, you will level up. Also keep in mind that if you lose to players that you should beat because they are less level than you, your level will be down.

Keep in mind that an important factor for the level change after a match is the reliability, so the level do not change in the same way for all the participants, the higher the reliability of a player, the less level jumps there will be.

Level variations in Playtomic

All competitive matches will involve a change in your level. If you do not want your level to be affected by the result, please choose the friendly match option.

Why were your level and your teammate's level changed differently after a match?

The level is not increased or decreased in the same way to all players, this depends on various factors but there is one that particularly affects: reliability.

The higher the level reliability, the fewer changes there will be. So if in a match your level has increased by less or more than your partner's, it is all normal.

Possible reasons why the levels didn't change after adding a match result:

  • The match is not competitive. Please check the match details to ensure that it's a competitive one.

  • The results have been rejected.

  • The results entered are incorrect.

Keep in mind that for a set to be considered valid, it must meet these requirements:

  1. One player must have more points than the other.

  2. At least one player must have scored 6 or 7 points.

  3. If neither player has scored 7 points, there must be a two-point gap between them. (If either player has scored 7 points, there can be as little as a 1-point gap, but only for the whole match.)

Remember that the level changes even in the case of a tie. Specifically, the team with the highest overall level will lose points, while the team with the lowest level will gain points
