How Does X (Twitter) Outreach Work in Spear?

Twitter triggers surface prospects as suggestions, but outreach to them is manual — Spear's automated sequences only send on LinkedIn.

Same model as Reddit: Spear can discover prospects through Twitter/X triggers — Keyword Search, Follower, Like, and Page — rather than a separate "Twitter campaign" type.

How to enable it

  1. Go to Triggers and enable the Twitter triggers relevant to your ICP (Keyword Search, Follower, Like, or Page).

  2. Add keywords or the accounts/pages you want monitored.

  3. Matching users surface as prospects with a Twitter channel in your suggestions, alongside LinkedIn ones.

Important: outreach to Twitter prospects is manual

Spear's automated connection request / message sequences only send on LinkedIn. A prospect discovered via a Twitter trigger does not get an automated message sent through Spear — there's no "send" step for this channel.

What Spear does give you: a drafted message based on the tweet or activity that triggered the suggestion, the same way it drafts a first message for LinkedIn prospects. Review and edit that draft inside Spear, then post or send it yourself directly on X.

This also means Twitter prospects are excluded from auto-approve: even with auto-approve turned on, non-LinkedIn prospects (Twitter/Reddit) always stay manual.

Pro-Tip: DMs on X are often restricted unless you already follow each other, so a public reply to the tweet that triggered the suggestion is frequently the only way to start the conversation — lead with that instead of trying to DM cold.
