What are 'Existing Network' and 'Re-engagement' Campaigns for Prospects You're Already Connected To?

What Existing Network and Re-engagement campaigns are, and how to set one up.

What is an Existing Network Campaign?

An Existing Network campaign targets prospects you're already connected to on LinkedIn — instead of sending a new connection request, your message goes straight to their inbox.

This single campaign type covers two situations, and Spear determines which one applies to each prospect automatically — you don't choose between them when setting up the campaign:

  • Existing connections — people you were already connected to on LinkedIn before using Spear, who haven't received a sequence yet.

  • Re-engagement — prospects already loaded in Spear who started a sequence but never replied. Most effective for prospects who've been in a holding pattern, or haven't replied to any message in at least 30 days.

Because there's no connection request to send and no acceptance to wait for, Existing Network campaigns tend to convert well — you're reaching people who already know you, straight in their inbox.

How to create one

Step 1: Go to Standard campaigns (or Event campaigns, depending on the kind of campaign) in the left sidebar. Click Create campaign.

Step 2: In the "Choose campaign type" modal, select Existing network ("Spear will suggest prospects from your network that match your ICP") and click Create campaign.

Step 3 — Campaign settings: Name your campaign, choose a language, and optionally set an outreach start/end date.

Step 4 — Prospect source: Set your ICP filters (job title, seniority, location, company size, industry, etc.) to define which of your existing connections should be targeted.

Step 5 — Sequence: Build your outreach sequence (the messages that will be sent).

Click Create campaign when done.
