Deciding if clients choose their own adviser, or if you choose for them

When a new client enters your Client Portal through a link on your website, they may not yet have an adviser. Trail allows you to decide if these clients can choose their adviser themselves, or if they will automatically be assigned to a specific adviser.Β

Note: If your advice business contains a single adviser, then clients will automatically be assigned to you.

You can change this in your organisations Users & Teams settings if you have business admin enabled πŸ‘

Assigning Clients to a Specific Adviser

Assigning a client to a specific adviser means that one person will be in control of all incoming clients. This can be useful as it means that this adviser can delegate clients to other advisers depending on workload or skill - for example, one adviser may have a lot of experience in construction loans, whereas another may have more knowledge on springboard loans. If this is the way your business works, deciding on behalf of the client could mean that they get better service.

Allow Clients to Choose

If clients are assigned to no one, then when a client signs into your Client Portal through your website, they will be given a choice of which adviser they would like to work with. If you have chosen this option, it is important that the profiles for the advisers in your company are set up properly, with an avatar, About You and their disclosure statement. This is what clients will be able to see when they log in, and they will base their adviser decision on who they believe is best for them. An adviser with their profile set up properly will be more appealing than an adviser that hasn't done this.

PLEASE NOTE: if a specific adviser creates a contact and sends them a link to fill out an application, the client will automatically be assigned to that adviser and won't be asked to choose πŸ‘
