At Trail, we make it easy to help you present your Mortgage Statement of Advice to your client. This is done within a Mortgage Advice Opportunity, under the "Mortgage Recommendation" page:

There are 2 distinct ways you can do this;

  1. Or you can use the Interactive Mortgage Recommendation page

In this article, we will cover the Interactive Mortgage Recommendation page which lets you to create an interactive web page to helps your clients:

  • Understand your advice

  • Educate them on specific lending concepts

  • Confirm a Loan Structure & accept your advice online through Trail's Client Portal!

In this article you will learn:

  • Creating the recommendation page

  • Presenting your Recommendations to your Client

  • Next Step!

Creating the Recommendation Page

The Interactive Mortgage Recommendation Page is where you can create the recommendation page, edit access to it for your clients and create templating for this!

Once you arrive on the Interactive Mortgage Recommendation page you have some options of what to do. You can:

  • Start from scratch and build a template by adding widgets. Just click 'Add New Widget' to get going. You can always save this as a template (further on this below).

  • Or use Trail's "Default Mortgage Template" to start you off, so you add/ remove/ edit the widgets in there! Simply click "Load Template" and click "Default Mortgage Template".

From here, you can build your Recommendation page from the widgets (however you start off) and if this sequence of widgets (template) could apply for others, then save it as a Mortgage Recommendation Template for the future!

Widgets

Widgets are sets of information in a webpage that are displayed to your client. Multiple widgets used together will create your recommendation page. Read more about using widgets here.

Templates

Once you have a set of widgets that you would like to reuse with multiple clients, you can save the page as a template to use in the future. Read more about using templates here.

Present Your Recommendations

When you have finished setting up the recommendation page for your client, you will be ready to present it to your client!

There are multiple ways you can present the mortgage recommendation page, depending on your workflows:

  • You could have an in-person meeting with the client and show them the recommendation page - or

  • You could send it to them via Trail and call them to walk through the information together🚀

Send the interactive recommendation page to your client

You can do this by clicking the View Page button at the top of the page:

Next, click the Active button so it turns green. This will make the client's recommendation live in their Client Portal.

(Note: this cannot be done if you have not loaded a template, so compile your Recommendation page first)

Then you're ready to email your client!

This can be done either by:

  • Clicking Copy Link and pasting the link in an email to the client

  • Clicking Email Link to Client (the page will need to be active to do this). This will open an email template (which you can edit in your settings) that you are free to edit before being sent to the client:

Use Mouse-Tracking during the Presentation

Once you are on the page, at any time you can click the Mouse Tracker button to see what your client is doing on the page, and vice versa. Changes you make to inputs on dynamic widgets such as calculators will show up for the other person, allowing you to easily explain concepts.
