Trail allows you to track the referral / profile source of where your leads and new clients are coming from, along with specific referrers.
This is essential for knowing where your business marketing strategies are succeeding and where your new client leads are mostly coming from!

What is a Profile Source in Trail?
A Profile Source is a tagging identifier on a Client Profile, and makes up the top row of Profile tagging. More on tagging a profile here!
We believe having Profile Sources that reflect the way your business works is important. Because of this, you can change the referrer types that your organisation uses and tag this on your clients profiles.
To set these up please refer to your Trail Organisation settings > Profile Sources & Tags.
How to add a new Profile Source
Click the green button at the top of the page, this will bring up a new Profile source at the top of the screen which you can then give it a name based on your refer type.
How to delete a Profile Source
Click the box containing the three dots to the right of the Profile source you wish to remove, and click delete.
If you have any profiles marked with the source you're about to delete, then a prompt will appear asking if you would like to re-allocate these to another existing source:
If you select "Do Not Change" then the Profile Source for the affected profiles will revert to "Unspecified".
Rename a Profile Source
Click into the name of the Profile source and overtype what you wish to change.
If you have any profiles marked with the source you're about to rename, then a prompt will appear asking if you would like these to Keep the Existing (old) name, or Rename these to the new name.
Reorder the Profile Source list
You can reshuffle the order of appearance of the Profile Sources list, which will affect that dropdown menu on the client's profile.
Reorder by clicking the box to the left of the Profile source containing the three lines to the left of the source and dragging it to where you want to move it to.
