What can you do in Trail after your client has finished an online Fact Find, or you've done a meeting to fill in the Fact Find on their behalf?

Trail makes it easy to double check information with your client, and keep email records of your interactions and finalized Fact Find! This is super helpful for keeping accurate records for whenever you need to evidence this part of your advice process.

There is also a way to send out your Nature and Scope which we will touch on briefly here. For more information about Nature & Scope disclosing in Trail, click here πŸ‘

In this article you will learn:

  • When a Client Completes an Online Fact Find

  • Getting Client to Double Check information

  • Sending finalised Fact Find & Nature and Scope

  • Evidencing on Profile

When a Client Completes an Online Fact Find

At the end of completing the online Fact Find, your clients view will view your Stage 2: Nature & Scope Disclosures before submitting it:

This is why it is important to set up the wording in your Settings before sending out Fact Finds.

Trail produces this initial evidencing of your client's viewing of this disclosure in the notification email you recieve - within the Fact Find PDF attachment:

Your disclosures are contained as the final pages within this attached Fact Find PDF:

Getting Clients to Double Check information

If you had done the Fact Find with/ on behalf of your client or if you have had done further edits after your client completed the online Fact Find -

You may need your client to double check their information is all correct before proceeding any further.

In this case, you can (re)send a Fact Find link and your client can access their information (which you have filled out or added on their behalf) from the Client Portal to view and confirm or make any further updates or changes.

Sending finalised Fact Find & Nature and Scope Disclosures

This next part will be good for record-keeping and useful for evidencing Step 2 of the Advice process.

You can email the confirmed Fact Find and finalised Nature & Scope (containing your stage 2 disclosures) to your client at this point.

Look for the blue EMAIL button next to the section headers.

The green DOWNLOAD button next to it is for downloading a copy of the PDF for yourself to proof read and check before sending.

Clicking the Email button will bring up a Trail email template that INCLUDES the PDF of their Fact Find /or their Nature and Scope document. You will need to review the email wording, and then click "Send":

Evidencing on Profile

By doing the above you will have a record on their Profile (if you have your email integration all set up) of these emails where you've sent the finalised Fact Find and clarified the Nature and Scope (along with evidence of stage 2 Disclosure):
