How to Create a Form on WhatsApp with WAX

Collect your customer data quickly and easily while integrating it directly into your CRM tools 🎯

Updated over a month ago

WhatsApp forms via WAX (marketing template) allow you to easily collect customer data directly within the conversation. Each response is automatically integrated into your CRM, making it easier to track, segment, and personalize your marketing actions.

🚀 Best Practices Before You Start

  • Personalize your message with the customer’s first name

  • Be clear about the form’s purpose and the time required (e.g. “Takes 1 minute to complete”)

  • Optimize for mobile: short messages, simple fields

  • Add an engaging call-to-action (e.g. “Start now 👇”)

  • Reassure users about data privacy

(See the step-by-step tutorial below)

✅ Setup Steps

1️⃣ Create the Introduction Template

  • In the Flow Builder, drag and drop the Form block into the workspace

  • Click Select Template

  • Write your introduction message (e.g. “Hi {{first_name}}, we’d love to get to know you better! This form takes just 1 minute 👇”)

  • Validate and create the template

2️⃣ Build the Form

  • Click Create Form

  • Configure your fields:

    • Text Input → for simple info (e.g. first name, city)

    • Text Area → for detailed answers (e.g. needs or feedback)

  • Link each field to a Contact Attribute (existing or new)

  • Organize your fields: set them as required or optional, and reorder by drag-and-drop

3️⃣ Validate and Publish

  • Save the form

  • Submit it for META approval

  • Once approved, connect it to a confirmation template (e.g. “Thank you, your information has been saved 🙌”)

4️⃣ Use the Collected Data

  • Profile View: find all customer info directly in their profile

  • Segments: target users based on attributes (e.g. customers by city, product preferences)

  • Export: analyze data in CSV for deeper insights
