Start from a ready-made arrangement instead of building one from scratch.
Presets are the fastest way to add a new layout. You don't have to arrange panels by hand.
Built-in presets
Projects can start from:
Spaces can start from:
Each preset opens these panels:
Design: Properties and Layers, Map, and Analytics and Urban.
Map: the map only.
Flow: Layers and Properties, Flow, and Map.
Presentation: Vistas and Map. Projects only.
Giraffe Classic: Layers and Vistas, Properties, a collapsed strip with Usage, Scenarios, Flow, Blocks, and Content Library, then Map, plus Analytics, Urban, Solar, Terrain, and your project apps. Projects only.
Discover: Layers and Map. Spaces only.
Browse: Portfolio and Map. Spaces only.
If you change a layout that started from a preset, right-click its tab and choose Revert to plus the preset name, like Revert to Design, to go back to the original.
Your starter set
A brand-new project starts with three tabs: Design, Map, and Flow. A new space starts with Discover and Browse. In projects, Presentation and Giraffe Classic are available any time under Giraffe Presets in the + menu. They aren't part of the starting set. Reset to defaults asks you to confirm, then puts you back to exactly this starter set.
Giraffe Presets vs. My Layouts
Giraffe Presets are built in, and everyone has them. My Layouts are layouts you save yourself. Only you see them until you share them with a person, a team, or your workspace.
Layout preset messages
Giraffe shows this toast at the bottom of the screen if your layout template preferences can't be saved.
Message | What triggers it | What to do |
"Failed to save layout template preferences" | Saving your layout template preferences failed. | Try again. |
