Add new views to your project from the View palette.
Before opening the View menu:
Set layer opacity.
Save the layer state.
Adjust the visual style
Note: Visual style only saves into the View screenshot. The view style will not change when switching between views.
Adjust sun angle, if desired.
Note: the Sun angle only saves into the View screenshot. The sun angle will not change when switching between views.
Once your canvas is configured:
Open the View tab
(Click the camera icon on the left hand palette)
Create a View by clicking on the New View button (camera + )
For 2D views, set the paper and scale
Set the scale, paper size, and resolution
Then, adjust the canvas to fit inside the paper space displayed.
Click "Continue"
A high-resolution image generates briefly, then proceeds to the next step.
Set the view metadata:
Give the view a Title (name)
Input a description.
The description can be used in Reports to add a caption.
Toggle to include
camera - toggle off to only save layer state. When switching between views, the camera will not change
layers - toggle off to only save camera. When switching between views, the layers will not change
Thumbnail Preview
Right click the thumbnail to download it.
You can also:
Upload a custom thumbnail - keep the view camera and layer state, but display a custom image in the view menu and in reports.
Click "choose file" to select any jpg or png from your computer.
Refresh thumbnail - if you make updates to the canvas, click the refresh icon to re-process the screenshot to match
center map to view - if you accidentally move the canvas, you can re-center your map to match the current view
Once you are satisfied with the settings, click "save."
The view is added to the View palette.
