Categories can display the same calculations in multiple ways.

The default is the table view.

You can also display the information in a pie chart or bar chart.

Add a Display

Click "add display." The button is located in the bottom left.

Display Editor

The display editor appears.

Input a name for your display. The name will display in your analytics report as a sub header in the category.

Then, select the type of display you want to add.

Table

Table is the default view for analytics.

It shows your calculations as rows.

A Table display is included by default with every category. You do not need to add the table unless you want multiple displays (see following section).

Pie

A pie chart is great for visualizing parts of a whole.

Add a display.

Click the Pie option in the display settings.

Give the chart a name, if desired.

Inclusion/Exclusion

Choose calculations to include or exclude from the chart, if desired.

This allows flexibility with the display within a single category - nominate only a few calculations to tell a specific story.

Inferred Data

Toggle "show total sum of measure values" to see a subtotal of the calculations included in the chart

Toggle "show measure percentage of total" to see a % breakdown when you mouse over the chart line items.

Bar

A bar chart is great for comparing two or more values.

Add a display.

Click the bar option in the display settings.

Give the chart a name, if desired.

Inferred Data

Toggle "show measure percentage of total" to see a % breakdown when you mouse over the chart line items.

Reviewing Charts

Mouse over a chart area to highlight the coordinating line item.

Mouse over a line item to see its area highlighted in the chart.

Mouse over a value to see its % of the total (if "show measure percentage of total" toggled on).

Chart Colors

By default, the chart inherits a gradient based on the category's color.

Assign a different color scheme by clicking the paint palette icon. The paint palette appears when you mouse over the chart.

From the selector, choose a different scheme.

To revert to category color, click the "from category color" button.

Multiple Displays

You can include multiple displays within a single category.

To add another display, click "add display."

Add as many as you like.

Each display can have different settings, including which calculations to include/exclude, whether to subtotal, or color scheme applied.

Grouping with Displays

When you group your calculations by a property, a chart will display for each group.

Rather than the line items being displayed to the right, they are listed below the chart.

If desired, a different color scheme can be applied to each grouping chart in the same category.

Similarly, when you toggle "subcategorize by usage," charts will generate for each usage.
