Using a Space as a Guest Portal

Allow guests to see some projects in a space

Written by Holly Conrad Smith

Give investors, lenders, or partners one map of your pipeline without opening up your design work. Share a Space and its projects at Guest access. Guests see the portfolio on the map, along with only the project data you choose to show them.

Guest access is available on Enterprise workspaces.

What a guest can see

  • Projects shared with them, on the Space's portfolio layer.

  • Workspace properties that have Visible to Guests? turned on.

  • Project attachments that have Viewable by guests turned on.

A guest can't open a project to see its model. Guest access to a project only lets them see that project in the Space.

Compare Guest with Admin, Edit, and View access in Space permissions.

Choose which project properties guests see

Each workspace property has a Visible to Guests? switch. Turn it on for the properties you want guests to read, like status, site area, or unit count. Leave it off for internal numbers, like land price or margin.

  1. Open Workspace Properties.

  2. Edit a property.

  3. Turn on Visible to Guests?.

  4. Save the property.

  5. Repeat for every property guests should see.

Choose which attachments guests see

When you upload or edit a project attachment, turn on Viewable by guests to let guests see that file. The switch starts off, so new attachments stay hidden from guests until you turn it on.

Share the Space and projects with guests

  1. Select the projects you want guests to see in the Data Table, and choose share.

  2. Enter the guest's email, or pick a team.

  3. Set the access level to Guest.

  4. When Giraffe asks Share this space too?, choose to share the Space and the selected projects.

A guest only sees the projects shared with them. Share each new project at Guest access to add it to their portfolio. Learn every way to share a Space.

To share a Space with people who don't have a Giraffe account, publish the Space instead.
