If your organization received an invoice from Chariot Giving Inc., it means that you have received a gift via DAFpay and that you owe a processing fee, per our standard 2.9% rate. See below for more information on DAFpay, why you received this invoice, claiming your Chariot account, and setting up automatic payments in your dashboard.

What is DAFpay?

DAFpay (powered by Chariot) is the world's first Donor Advised Fund payment option, allowing donors to recommend a grant to any cause in just 3 clicks, directly on a nonprofit's website.

DAFpay was created by Chariot to simplify the DAF fundraising process for donors and nonprofits. This means more frequent and bigger gifts from donors and less headaches tracking and processing DAF gifts for nonprofits.

How did I receive a DAFpay gift without a Chariot account?

DAFpay is integrated with several fundraising platform partners. Check to see if the fundraising platform you use has integrated with Chariot - DAFpay may already have automatically been enabled on your site's donation form(s), which is why you've started receiving DAFpay gifts. Our integration partners include crowdfunding sites like GoFundMe, Pledge, Givebutter, etc., so any campaigns you have on those forms may have DAFpay enabled.

Although there is no upfront cost associated with DAFpay via our integration partners, there is a per-transaction processing fee of 2.9% for DAFpay, similar to a credit card. DAFpay allows for either nonprofits or donors to cover fees, depending on the platform and nonprofit preferences.

If your organization owes any DAFpay processing fees, due to the unique nature of DAF donations, Chariot sends these invoices to you at the end of each month.

How can I automate these payments in the future?

To automate invoice payments, you'll need to first claim your Chariot account. Check out this guide for step-by-step instructions on how to do so, as well as how to use the Chariot dashboard to manage and track all your DAFpay donations in a centralized place.

Once you've claimed your account and set up a billing method (either credit card or bank) within your Chariot dashboard, any balance you owe will be automatically paid at the end of each month.

If your organization has not yet added a billing method within your dashboard, invoices will be sent to the email address associated with your Chariot account at the end of each month. For more information on Chariot's account billing, check out this guide.

Managing your fundraising platform integrations

Go to the "Integrations" tab within your Chariot dashboard to see where your organization has an active DAFpay button.
